In Loving Memory of Glen Hovland

Glen Hovland of Wagon Mound, NM passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022.     Glen was born on December 16, 1939, in Las Vegas, NM.  Glen was raised on a cattle ranch south of Wagon Mound, by his parents, Henry and Icyle Hovland.

 Glen enjoyed the cattle ranch life as well as worked for the phone company while raising his children.

Lucille Hanson was Glen’s partner for the past 20+ years.  Glen and Lucille were kids when they first met at school in Wagon Mound.  Glen and Lucille loved each other dearly.  She was loving and kind to not only Glen but to his children.  

Glen enjoyed collecting buggies and had several horses.   He enjoyed sharing his horse and carriage in parades and a few weddings.   He also loved collecting John Deere tractors.

Glen was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, Herman, Gaylor, and Selmer, and a sister, Dorothy Stewart.

Glen is survived by his sister, Rosemarie Lower of Logan, NM, and three children, Debbie and Russ Manies of Bend, Oregon, LeeAnn and Mark Griffin of Omaha, Nebraska, Darrell and Michele Hovland of Aurora, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ryan and Andi Manies, Stephanie and Chris Mock, Gavin Hovland, Jeff Griffin, Kyle Griffin, and Charley Hovland; four great-grandchildren, Alivia and Izzy Manies, and Lucina and Lily Mock.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurse, Robin, and chaplain, Connie for their loving care and compassion shown to our dad and our family in our time of need.

A memorial service for Glen will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Springer at the Methodist Church at 10:00 am with Pastor Chuck Wiggins officiating.   Burial will follow at Springer cemetery.

Arrangements for Glen Neal Hovland are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
