In Loving Memory of Ada Mae (McBride) Hovland UPDATE

Ada Mae (McBride) Hovland 88 of Cimarron, New Mexico departed life here on Earth to be with God and her family in Heaven on January 29, 2022.

Ada was born to Frank and Louise (Swanson) McBride at the Swanson Farm in the Moreno Valley of New Mexico. Ada spent her childhood on the Mcbride Ranch in Southeast Colorado. As a young lady, she rode horseback, working on the ranch, being a working cowgirl alongside her parents, two Aunts, and Uncles on the ranch they all loved. Ada attended school in Trinidad, Colorado, and graduated there. Later Ada ran a Dude Ranch outside LaVeta, Colorado, and toured all over the United States calling and dancing within the Square dance system. She also spent several years operating a truck stop in Wagon Mound, New Mexico.

Ada settled in Cimarron to be closer to her parents and worked for the Philmont Boy Scout ranch until her retirement.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Louise McBride.

Ada is survived by her cousins Cathryn (Brewster) and Bill Hickman, Ron Hickman, Carl Swanson, Judy, and Burke Piper and Special Friends Morris and Sue McKillip and family.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Cimarron Mountain View Cemetary with the Reverend Ellen Swain officiating.
