In Loving Memory of Joe L. Lopez Jr

As the sun rose on Saturday, January 22, 2022, Joe Lopez Jr walked through the gates of Heaven and received his Angel wings. He passed at the age of 74 in Fontana California. He was born on April 17, 1947, and was preceded in death by his father Joselino Lopez Sr, and Mother Josie.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Juanita Lopez, son Michael Lopez, daughter Melissa Lopez Perez, 7 grandchildren, Kassondra Slouka, Jacob Lopez, Julia Malam, Damien Lopez, Desiree Lopez, Joseph Perez, and Sage Perez along with his sister Lela Cordova.

Joe Lopez was born and raised in Raton, New Mexico. He joined the Navy at the age of 18, completed his service as a veteran of the Vietnam war and settled in California. Joe worked hard to provide for his family. He coached on his kids sports teams. After 40 years as an Injection Molding Engineer, he retired from the same company he started at right after his Naval service.

Joe was also known as PAPA to his grandchildren. He valued his time with family and friends and was the foundation for his loved ones. The summers were spent in his backyard with classic rock on the radio, enjoying the swimming pool, and BBQing. During football season, he’d sipped a cold beer watching his Denver Broncos. Life was good for Joe. As he often stated, he lived life with NO REGRETS. Joe is extremely loved.

An interment will be held at a later date in Riverside, California at Arlington Mortuary.
