It is with great sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Ethel Trujillo in Colorado Springs Co. on January 20th, 2022. She was born June 20th, 1946, In New Mexico, to Joe and Frances Trujillo from Sopris CO. She is survived by Sisters Becky Nolnasco “Tony Nolnasco” Sherry Trujillo, her eldest son Ted Abeyta “Adele Abeyta”. Her daughter Ethelann Abeyta and spouse Monico Castellano. Granddaughter Mandy Phillabaum (Daniel Phillabaum) Granddaughter Camilla Romero, Angelique Abeyta, and Celeste Abeyta (Dayton Romero) also Nathan Abeyta. She had three great-grandchildren Luke Phillabaum, Daniel Phillabaum, and Lillianna Phillabaum. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Trujillo and mother Frances Trujillo. Brothers Alfred John Trujillo, Leo Trujillo, sister MassieTrujillo. Also, husband Theodore Abeyta and Son Adam Abeyta. In Ethel’s young life she loved to make tortillas and be with her family as time went on, she worked at many places in Trinidad such as a cook for local schools, teacher’s aid, and a personal care provider.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church.
Inurnment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
