In collaboration with the New Mexico Department of Health and El Centro Family Health Clinic, Luna Community College will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, in the school’s cafeteria.

We will open it up to everyone,” said Luna nursing instructor Joy Shrum. “Anyone who is eligible to receive a primary, secondary or booster can come to our clinic.”

Shrum said eight of her nursing students will administer the vaccinations.

It is a good opportunity for students to help out the community, and it’s good for Luna to promote the vaccinations,” said Shrum. “We must try to make sure that people are protected against COVID-19. We will provide information about the vaccinations at the clinic.”

Shrum said that although the clinic is open for four hours, they would stay open past 2 p.m. if necessary. The Higher Education Department and the NMDOH have applauded Luna nursing students for their assistance in helping administer vaccinations. Luna nursing students have taken part in several vaccination clinics over the last two years.
