Ernesto Campos Sr, age 80 passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2021. He was born on February 22, 1941, in Chihuahua Mexico.
All his life he was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed work such as farming and ranching. He always grew a home garden and loved being outside watering his lawn. His favorite pastime was singing and playing music. He grew up singing and playing guitar along with his brothers and sisters. His love of music did carry on to his children, Ernesto Jr is a skilled DJ, and his son Adam and daughter Eve were both in local bands.
In 1969 while doing migrant work in San Luis, Colorado he met Mary Martha Becerra. They fell in love and were married in San Luis in August of 1971.
He is preceded in death by his parents, several brothers, his wife Mary Campos, and his son Adam Campos.
He is survived by his son Ernesto Joseph Isiah III, Daughter Eve Campos (Adam Coca)
Grandchildren Sabrina Almarez, Ernesto Campos, Adam Campos, Marival Campos and Emily Campos.
Greatgrandchildren Nyx, EJ, Jeremiah, Luica, and coming soon Adamjay David Campos.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 3 pm-6 pm at the Comi Chapel.
Vigil Services will be conducted on Tuesday, at 6 pm at the Comi Chapel.
Cremation to follow.
Memorial Services will be at Emanuel Apostolic Temple, 711 W. 2nd St. Walsenburg CO 81089, on Saturday, February 5, 2022, with Pastor Moses Barela officiating.
