Jaqueline ” Jackie” Elizabeth Smith 89, from Aguilar, CO passed away on January 12, 2022, at McCandless Nursing Home in Florence, CO. Jackie was born in Alamo, CO to John “Jack” and Alice Lavery on August 6, 1932. She married the love of her life Clifford ” Mick” Smith on July 05, 1952, in Aguilar, CO. She always loved being with her family and taking care of her four children. Her favorite hobbies were the fishing trips with her family, daily visits with friends, and being in a bowling league for many years.
Jackie is survived by her four children, Mickey & Barbara Smith, Tom & Merle Smith, Barbara & Marty Dosen, and Ron Smith; 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and a large loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Leo Lavery; grandson, Jason Smith; and loving husband of 67 years Clifford (Mick) Smith.
A special thank you to all of the staff at McCandless Nursing Home, that took the best care of Jackie during her last 2 years. The entire staff loved her sweet personality and Jackie loved them and the other residents that quickly became her friends.
A Viewing will be on January 19, 2022, at Comi Funeral Home in Trinidad, CO at 2 pm for family, and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm for the public; and on January 20, 2022, there will be a Rosary at 12:30 pm and Mass at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Church in Aguilar.
