On December 28, 2021, the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary at the Vermejo Conservancy District located in Maxwell, NM. The suspect/suspects took approximately 200 gallons of red dyed diesel fuel, as well as 100 gallons of regular diesel. The suspect identified as Devin Hyndman was located and arrested in Maxwell. After obtaining a search warrant of the vehicle, Hyndman had items in his vehicle that were identified as being taken from the Vermejo Conservancy. Hyndman was charged with commercial burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
