In the first quarter Cimarron had a 9-2 lead with less than two minutes left in the quarter before Raton rallied and brought the score to 8-9. Raton then turned up the burner and rallied to a 20-2 second quarter where Cimarron scored their only two points at the free throw line.
The second half of play saw the Cimarron defense stiffen up and hold Raton to 13 points. Cimarron, however, could only muster eight points of which six came from the free throw line.
