Lester was a United States Army Veteran and proudly served in WWII. He worked at a power plant in New Mexico for many years. He loved old cars, working on the farm, and raising cattle. He enjoyed traveling. He and Edna traveled all over the United States including Alaska. He never made it to Hawaii. Most of his traveling was done in an RV with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cliff and Lova Roach. Lester was a bit accident-prone and most of his bones were held together with rods and screws. He fell off of a house and had two broken arms and a broken jaw. Edna had to feed him. He also had a tree fall on him and an electric door closed on him. Lester was greatly loved by his family and will be missed.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Edna Johnson Spriggs of Greenbrier; one sister, Lenora Foster and husband Bob of Truth or Consequences, NM; and many nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Bertha Spriggs; and his brothers, John, Millard, Emery, and Raymond.
