Leonard Castillo, of Trinidad Colorado, passed away on December 28, 2021, due to complications from COVID. He was born on January 3, 1955, in Trinidad, CO, to Joe and Christella Castillo. Leonard graduated from Trinidad High School in 1973; and in that same year, he married his Sweetheart Sally Ossola. Leonard and Sally had four children, Shay Lynn, Leonora, Chris, and Leonard.
Leonard worked for M&M Distributing as a truck driver for over 25 years. He also drove for Key Energy, Sam Sisneros Operations, and Felix Chavez & Son Construction. He loved driving semi-trucks using the CB handles, Orange Sunshine and Bluebird. He was a great mechanic, never minding getting his hands dirty working on trucks and cars. During his retirement, he was always getting caught sleeping in his favorite recliner with his dog, Pepe, saying he was watching TV with his eyes closed. Leonard had the greatest sense of humor. Anyone who knew him will always remember how he liked to tease, and all of his Facebook friends are really going to miss his inspirational and thoughtful posts.
Leonard is preceded in death by his father, Joe Castillo, his sister, Hazel Ann, mother and father-in-law, Louie and Selina Ossola, sisters-in-law, Irene Romo and Janet Sanchez, brother-in-law, Floyd Duran, and nephew, Gene J. Castillo.
