In Loving Memory of Douglas H. “Doug” George

Douglas H. “Doug” George, 83 died Wednesday; December 15, 2021, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Hilario Perez, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Doug George was born September 8, 1938, in Amistad, New Mexico to Merlin George and Lela Mae (White) George. Doug was raised in Steed, New Mexico. He married Judy C. Bridgeman of Dalhart, Texas on January 5, 1963. Doug was a standout basketball player and was an avid roper throughout his life. He spent his life caring for and raising cattle, he loved this way of life. He returned to the Clayton area about 20 years ago and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Harrison Clint Hadley.

SURVIVORS:

SIBLINGS: Ileta Burkett and her husband Charles, Ann Burch and her husband Harvey, Doug George and his wife Carolyn, and Kathllen Fiel and her husband Sandy.

3 DAUGHTERS: Annetta Hadley and her husband Keith of Farwell, Texas, Trudy Hansen and her husband Roger of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jolene Broad and her husband Jon of Carmel, Indiana.

1 SON: Douglas Geoorge, Jr. and his wife Angeline of Amarillo, Texas.

GRANDCHILDREN: Hayden Hadley and his wife Madalyn and Heath Hadley all of Farwell, Texas, Laila Hansen and Arrianna Hansen both of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jake Scott, Katie Broad, and Jessica Broad all of Carmel, Indiana, Trey George and Jaycee George both of Amarillo, Texas.

Doug become a proud Great Grandad one week ago and was looking forward to meeting Hayes Hadley.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Doug’s memory to Hoss Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Opportunity Plan, Box 1035, Canyon, Texas 79015, or to the Ronald McDonald Charities in your local town.
