Simon Apodaca age 65, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Monday, November 22, 2021.
Simon was born October 10, 1956, to Anselmo Apodaca and Alfonsa Apodaca in Springer, New Mexico. Simon was a resident of Springer most of his life, he met his partner and got married, and started a family. Simon was a very hard worker, he worked in the Nursing field for many years, Simon was a man of very few words, he got along with everyone, he loved his wife, kids, grandkids, and family very much. He had a special bond with everyone. Simon loved riding his motorcycle and going to bike rally’s, he was very talented when it came to woodwork and enjoyed making something for everyone in his family, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan, never missed a Cowboys game, he also loved to work on cars, he would help everyone when they came to him with car trouble, he loved helping anyone and everyone. Simon is preceded in death by his father Anselmo Apodaca, Grandmother Antonia Apodaca, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Simon is survived by his lifelong partner Maryann Apodaca, daughters Laura Apodaca and husband Jeremy Bradford of Raton, NM., Crystal Apodaca, and fiancé Shane Montoya of Raton, NM. Son Simon Apodaca Jr. of Raton, NM., Grandkids, Isaiah Apodaca, Amari Bradford, Zacharias Apodaca, Jaden Apodaca, Angie, Anthony, Allianna, Alex. He is also survived by his mother Alfonsa Apodaca, Sisters, Emma Apodaca of Springer, NM., Debbie Cazares, and husband Salamon of Helper, Utah. Brothers, Paul Apodaca and wife Penny of Washington, Joe Apodaca and wife Cathy of Springer, NM., Michael Apodaca of Springer, Alfred Apodaca and wife Debbie of Rio Rancho, NM,. and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, NM., recited by Deacon Ed Olona. Mass of Christian Burial will be December 17, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, NM., with Father Trieu and Father Daniel Balizan Officiating. Rite of committal and interment will follow in the Springer Cemetery.
