Vigil Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, November 19 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2021, by Fr. Jason Pettigrew.
Leoray Vigil was born on February 13, 1966, in Clayton, New Mexico to Gomisindo P. “Gomez” Vigil and Ophelia M. (Arellano) Vigil. A lifelong resident of Clayton, Leoray graduated from Clayton High School in 1984 and attended technical school in Amarillo. Leoray worked at the feedlot as a feed truck driver and at PSF as a Maintenance Supervisor. He loved working on his cars and teaching his son Christian how to work on cars. He enjoyed fishing and being outside, listening to good music, going to car shows, cooking, grilling, and spending time with his family. He followed in his father’s footsteps of being a painter and then passed these skills to his sons. Leoray also enjoyed helping and spending time with his friends and neighbors. Leoray cared for his mother for several years while she was ill until her death. He was preceded in death by his father Gomez Vigil on December 24, 1992, his mother Ophelia M. Vigil on August 19, 2013, 1 brother Wilfred R. Vigil on April 23, 1978, and 1 sister Loretta Gene Vigil on July 24, 1950.
SURVIVORS:
His Soulmate: Susan Sintas of Clayton, New Mexico.
2 SONS: Stephen Vigil and Christian Sintas.
1 GRANDSON: Isaac Holguin.
3 SISTERS: Barbara Aragon and her husband Frankie and Loretta Vigil and her Companion Steve all of Clayton, New Mexico and Sally Carter and her husband Roy of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
And by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
