In Loving Memory of Leta Rae (Campbell) Burton

Leta Rae (Campbell) Burton, age 88, of felt, Oklahoma has met her beloved maker on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Mountain Time on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Creeds Chapel Cemetery in Seneca, New Mexico with Rev. Gaylon Smith, pastor of the Wheeless Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Leta Rae (Campbell) Burton was born to Esther Pearl (Havens) and Ollie Thomas Campbell on April 21, 1933, in Seneca, New Mexico. She grew up during the depression, Dust Bowl, and WWII eras. She was well prepared for the rural life of a farmer’s wife. Leta married Doyle Burton on May 29, 1950, and was wed 54 years. She gardened, canned, sewed, cooked, and cleaned for her family and was Doyle’s caregiver for 8 years. Jeremy, her loving grandson was her caregiver for many years. “Don’t cry for me, I am where I need to be.”

SURVIVORS:

2 SONS: Lee Burton of Felt, Oklahoma, and Tom Burton and his wife Martha of Amarillo, Texas.

1 DAUGHTER: Sue Denham and her husband Bob of Amarillo, Texas.

Grandchildren: Dave Anders and his wife Katrina, Curtis Anders and his wife Piper, Jason Burton and his wife Jamie, Jeremy Eric Burton and Heather Wilson and her husband Randy.

9 Great-grandchildren: Kendall, Bailey, Matthew, James, Nancy, Thomas, Taylor, Truitt, and Tatum.
