Isabel is survived by her brother Tony Martinez of Raton, her companion Billy (her cat), her sons Greg(Marcella), Gene aka Pete, Thomas (Denise), Leroy and Teddy, grandchildren Steven, Ashley, Thomas Jr, Joshua, Lawrence, Erica, Juanito, Kenny and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family.
Isabel spent her entire life loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. Isabel worked at the Raton Daily Range for over 25 years. Isabel also took care of the elderly for over 30 years while caring for them until they passed. Isabel was also a foster Grandparent for many years until she retired.
Isabel took pride in her work and instilled that in all her boys, the only thing Isabel asked of her children was a High School Diploma, while all 6 children did and continued to get secondary education which Isabel was extremely proud of. Education and religion were extremely important to her. Isabel’s favorite job was being a Foster Grandparent in the Raton Public Schools. Isabel cared for more than her own children, she cared for the neighborhood children as she watched them all grow up, as of today the neighborhood children still think so kindly of her.
Isabel’s children and grandchildren all feel blessed and very lucky God gave them a strong, caring, smart woman to be their mother and grandmother.
Per Isabel’s request, there will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be Saturday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. recited by Deacon Ed Olona. Christian Mass of Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Springer Cemetery.
