Directorship Transition Press Release
CARGANTUAN NEWS FLASH FROM ARTOCADE & ART CARTOPIA!
Artocade Board President and Co-Founder Pat Patrick announces:
ArtoCade Director/Co-Founder, Rodney Wood, will be retiring on January 1st. There will be a passing of the multi-colored keys and wacky hats to the new Director, Amanda Palmer.
After close to 10 years at the helm/steering wheel, Rodney has decided the time has come to move on to other projects. This was not an easy decision but one chosen
after much consideration in regard to life, family priorities, and with an acute awareness of what is best for ArtoCade and Art Cartopia. Like an aging athlete, it seems best to “go out on top” and let the team take things to the next level.
“Art cars and art car artists are magical; they have changed my life. My role as the creator and overseer of the amazing parades/festivals and the wondrous museum is the most important and rewarding project of my life. I am deeply grateful for the
incredible people that devoted so much time, energy, and heart to making ArtoCade and Art Cartopia a reality. It is with unwavering confidence that I give the keys over to these passionate people. Simply put, I believe in magic and they do too.”

NEW DIRECTOR AMANDA PALMER
It is with great joy, excitement, and anticipation, ArtoCade, and Art Cartopia are proud to announce that Amanda will be the new Director and Museum Manager starting on January 2, 2022. The reality is that she is the ideal person to take over the reins/steering wheel; she will be absolutely carvelous! Amanda has been on the Board since arriving in Trinidad and often says ArtoCade is one of the main reasons she relocated from upstate New York to our quirky little town. Amanda is an artist of national reputation, she’s already been deeply involved in the creation of two art cars (“Karmadillo” and “Spellbound”) in our collection as well as her lovely daily driver “Quick Silver.” She is the former Director/Curator of the “Alice T. Miner Museum” in Chazy, NY. Amanda is exceptionally talented and creative, both of which will be vital in her new role as the director and go-to art car glitterati. We are thrilled to see how she not only keeps the ArtoCade and Art Cartopia momentum rolling but takes them on to new levels of wacky greatness.
