Emery Thompson III, 83, of Branson, died on September 28, 2021, passing peacefully in his sleep with a smile. He was born July 6, 1938, in New Rochelle, New York to Emery Thompson Jr. and Betty Kent Thompson. After graduating from Curry College in New York, he entered the Naval Reserve and served for eight years. He married Virginia Garrison Lane on May 29, 1965, in an at-home wedding. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Thompson, and his two children Mark Thompson, MD of Buffalo, NY, and Kari Thompson Dilda of Branson, CO, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He has two surviving siblings, sister Sandra Engstrom of Scarsdale, NY, and brother Kent Thompson of San Antonio, TX. Emery’s most enduring legacy was a keen sense of humor and his love of music. He was a faithful member of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church in Trinidad, and loved to sing and play his guitar for Jesus. He loved God, his church, and his family. Emery worked for GE as an appliance repairman before opening his own appliance repair business on Cape Cod from 1973 -1997. Emery built his own light sport airplane in the living room.
Services will be held October 18, 2021, at 10 AM at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Trinidad, 1605 Aiello Street, followed by a potluck dinner at the church. Inurnment will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Branson at 2 PM. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
