In Loving Memory of Betty Jo (Miller) Leach

Betty Jo (Miller) Leach, age 90, passed away due to natural causes on October 7, 2021, at Genesis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Amistad Methodist Church in Amistad, New Mexico with Rev. Kenneth W. Tidmore, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Amistad Cemetery in Amistad, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Betty Jo, daughter of late William Idus “Jack” Miller and Goldie Odell (Dodd) Miller, was born March 1, 1931, in Kingsmill, Texas. She attended Amistad School in Amistad, New Mexico. Betty Jo had aspirations to become a good wife and mother. Following her school years, Betty Jo was married and had four children. Betty Jo and her family eventually moved away from Amistad and she worked as a waitress most of her life at various restaurants. Betty Jo moved back to Amistad in her later years and lived in the house she grew up in. Betty Jo cherished the Amistad area and all who lived there. She showed kindness and compassion to all. Betty Jo instilled the importance of faith in Jesus, tradition, integrity, and honest hard work in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

SURVIVORS:

Betty Jo’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Larry Taylor of Clearview, Oklahoma, Frances McSmith of Nara Visa, New Mexico, Ronald Taylor of Clayton, New Mexico and John Taylor of Logan, New Mexico; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sister Tressie Taylor of Sedan, New Mexico, brother Scottie Miller of Nara Visa, New Mexico, sister Joy Beamer of Sedan, New Mexico, sister Clarissa Egerton of Dalhart, Texas, and sister Brenda Copeland of Santa Rosa, New Mexico.
