In Loving Memory of Carole Bourdo

Carole Bourdo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 19th, 2021.
Carole was born an Artist in Chicago to Jeanette and Harry Briner. Later the family moved to Florida where she met Henry Bourdo and was married in 1957. They raised three children in Chicago then moved to Colorado in 1971. Divorced in 1976, Carole continued to develop her art and creativity focusing on Nature and The Native Americans.
Later she was able to freely travel the world and share those adventures in her Art. She always had an open house and heart for anyone that knew her or not. She was an amazing and creative cook as well. Among her friends she was known as “The Critter Getter.” With her creative and talented hand, her heart flowed through her fingertips and into her art so that each of us can possess a bit of “Critter.” Carole had many adventures and wanted to share some of those memories. So this year she sat down and created a book “A Life Well Lived” and also has a biography “The Art of Bourdo.”
Carole met Luton Dawes in 1995 and was married to her soul mate in 1998.Together they traveled the World and lived life to the fullest. They moved to Trinidad and became part of the creative community that was emerging. She later opened a gallery that has been handed down to her daughter Lynette to continue her legacy.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years Luton Dawes; brother James Briner; niece and nephew Debbie (Sam), Jimmy (Helen) that she loved like her own; along with her children and extended family: Lynette Bourdo (Chris) Perkowitz of Trinidad, CO, Michael (Dianna) Bourdo of Bend, OR, Lauri Bourdo-Winter of Raton, NM, Laura (Andy) NZ, Michelle (Tamsin) NZ, Natasha (Dave) NZ, Rowan UK, Amanda (Zoe) UK; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
