The Lady Tigers hosted the Springer Lady Red Devils Saturday for the volleyball homecoming activities Saturday afternoon in what turned out to be a Red day for the Lady Tigers as they dropped the match in three games.
Game one saw the Lady Red Devils take the early lead with Raton battling for ties at seven and eight. Springer however pulled ahead and as the volley battle went on they managed to create 16-11 lead. The girls kept the ball in the air through the the game with several volleys going over the net multiple times before one team would make an error for the point. At the end of game one it was Springer on top with 25-18 win.
Game two was a close one as the score was tied several times up to 16. The Lady Red Devils finally got the upper hand and took control of the ball taking a 22-18 lead. Springer kept the ball in the air and pulled out a 25-19 win.
Game three saw the last tie at five and the Lady Tigers faulter allowing Springer to pull out to a 8-5 lead. Springer managed to keep the points going in their favor and soon had a 16-8 lead. Again there were several volleys that lasted several hops over the net. Raton battled back however and pulled to a 22-20 score. Raton gave Springer the last two points with errors and the match in three.
