Mary (Guadalupe) Ortiz passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 15, 2021 at the age of 85. Mary was born in Chupaderas, NM on February 5, 1937 and resided in Raton, NM.
Mary leaves behind her loving husband Arturo Ortiz. Sons, Rudy (Tammy) Segura), Chris (Dolores) Segura, David (Liz) Segura and one daughter, Debbie Segura.
Also survived by six grandchildren: Danny Joe (Ana), Segura, Michael Segura of, Theodore Segura; David Segura, Fidel (Danyelle) Segura and Renae Segura. Ten great grandchildren: Erika, Daniel, Amadeus, Santiago, Annabella, Shantelle, Mia, Orion, Tabias, and Lucyelle. Two great great-grandchildren: Mateo and Joslyn.
Two sisters: Molly (Gilbert) Garcia from El Paso, TX and Eva (Tom) Mascarenas from Albuquerque, NM; three brothers: Deacon George Valverde from Albuquerque, Rubin (Carolyn) Valverde from Farmington, NM and Bennie (Vickie) Valverde of Raton.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be on Friday, September 24, beginning at 10 a.m. recited the The Legion of Mary with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. St. Joseph’s/St. Patrick’s Church with Father Bill Woytavich officiating. Rite of Committal and Internment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
