In Loving Memory of Shane Eli Gonzales

Shane Eli Gonzales, known by his family and friends as “Wedo.”  Peacefully was called to his everlasting home by our precious Lord and Savior on Thursday July 29, 2021, at the age of 48.

Shane was born in Raton, NM on April 11, 1973. He made a life for himself in Albuquerque, NM and eventually in Denver, Colorado.

Shane graduated from Raton High School. Shane worked at the Springer, New Mexico Boys School as a Juvenile Correctional Officer. Later in life, he moved to Albuquerque, NM where he worked as an Apprentice Electrician for Northridge Electrical Incorporated. Shane eventually moved to Denver, Colorado where he made his home.

 Shane can be characterized by his friends and family as being sociable, friendly and having an easy personality. Simply “Shane was the life of the party.”  Shane also enjoyed barbeques, watching football with his friends and family.  No bigger New York Giants football fan then him. Shane was a beloved son, brother, uncle and great uncle. 

Shane’s journey through life led him through many adversities and challenges along his rocky path.  Shane however embraced his path with optimism, confidence, hope, tears and faith. 

Shane is survived by his mother Pearl Ford and Stepdad Filbert Sr.- Raton, NM, brother Filbert Ford Jr. wife Lucinda (Peaches)- Raton, NM, brother Eric F. Gonzales wife Ruthann- Albuquerque, NM, Grandmother Charlette Martinez-Raton, NM, and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and family were all very special to him.

Shane is preceded in death by his loving father, Frank E. Gonzales, brother William Wayne Gonzales, sister Judith Ann (Judy) Ford, Grandmother Amadita Portilllos and Great-Grandmother Rita Grine

A memorial celebration for Shane will be given by his family, on September 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, located at 244 N. 1st St. Raton, NM 87740.  Pastor Monty McGowen officiating..
