David Joe Hernandez, age 71, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Raton New Mexico. He was born on November 11, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico and graduated from Raton High School. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was one of 10 children born to Florencio and Carlotta Hernandez. David was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Florencio, Dan and Joe, sisters, Lucy, Clara, Helen and Louise.
David is survived by daughters, Patricia Hernandez of Denver, CO, Gloria Lucero and husband Arturo Spraycasso of Denver, CO, sister, Esther Lucero of Colorado Springs, CO, Jenny and husband Rufino Lopez of Raton, NM and Florence Hernandez of Raton, NM. Grandchildren, Ryan Quintana, Kayla Quintana, Jarred Lucero, great grandchildren, Lucian Quintana and Alexandria Quintana all of Denver, CO. Special friend, Leon Romero and wife Patricia of Raton, NM. Rite of Committal and Inurnment for David will be August 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairmont Cemetery with Deacon Thomas Alderette
