Lucille was born August 29, 1942 in Dawson, New Mexico to Fiero Quartieri and Enis Arcangeli Quartieri. She was a proud member of the Maxwell Bears Class of 1960 and worked for Maxwell Schools for several years. Lucille worked at Safeway for over ten years and made many lifelong friends while working there. After Safeway closed, she went to work for her dear friends Drs. Omkar & Jameela Tiku, and retired from Miner’s Colfax Medical Center in 2010.
Lucille’s family was the light of her life. She loved them all dearly, and always kept them well fed. Lucille was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Professional Bull Riding, and watched every game (on mute because negative commentary about her teams would not be tolerated.) Lucille was a 26 year breast cancer survivor, and was a constant source of support and comfort to those with their own battles. Not only did Lucille cherish her family, she had a knack for making everyone feel like family. She was the life of the party, and lit up every room with her smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Lory Phillips, and precious pooch, Bella.
Lucille is survived by her loving family: brother, Johnny Quartieri and wife Rachel, sister Anita Phillips, daughter Cindi Berry and husband Scott, daughter Sandy Chavez and husband Chris, son Rodney Gabol, grandchildren, Megan Gabol, Melissa Gabol, Tyrel Chavez, Shelby Gabol, Bryan Berry, Chelsea Chavez, Gage Gabol, great granddaughter, Cheznee Billingsley and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lucille filled so many hearts during her time here, and though they may have been broken by her passing, how blessed they are to have known her.
