In Loving Memory Edward (Eddy) John Alfred Olguin

Edward John Alfred Olguin passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2021, at the age of 37.  He was born on July 18, 1983, in Omaha, Nebraska to Loudean & Edward Happle.  He was adopted in March 1987 by Dolores & Annie Olguin.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife and the mother of his children Tracy, his son Austin Caleb, and his daughters Brianna Leigh, & Savannah Estelle,  his mother Dolores Olguin, his sister Chantel Price, his brother Alex Olguin II, nieces Faith Price & Juliette Olguin and nephew Jacob Olguin & his grandmother Molly Sharp, Aunts Diana Countrymen, Loudean Sharp, Melody Dobbs, and Tiffany Glenie; Also survived by grandparents Hanz & Ellen Schwartz.

 

He is also survived by his half-sister Anna Townsend, half-brothers Jacob Happle and Austin Happle; Aunts & uncles:  Richard (Carmen) Olguin, Pete (Sharon) Olguin, Minnie Pacheco, Dale Brant, and Aurora Mestas. Other cousins that survive are Aaron Heiden, Garrick Sharp, Landon Baker,  Ray Maldonado, Jacqueline Crist, Alex Maldonado & Jowanda Campion; Michele Chew, Monique Stertz, Eric Olguin; Rick Payeur, Carrie Grote & Scott Brant, Rich Olguin & Carla Olguin,  Ronald Pacheco, Randy Pacheco, Kimberly Shattuck & Kelli Bullington, David Olguin, Davida Stinke, & Darren Olguin; John & Theresa Mestas.  Numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews, lots of friends and relatives survive him.

 

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Alex & Annie Olguin, grandfather Harold Sharp, father Edward Happle, Godparents Leo and Donna Olguin, uncles Brandan Sharp, Leopoldo Olguin, John Alfred Mestas, Joe Maldonado, his aunts Charlotte Maldonado & Rose Marie Brant. He was preceded in death by his cousins Jake Maldonado, Bill Payeur, Joshua Crist, Damian Brant and Daniel Maldonado, Jr.

Eddy will be remembered for his friendliness, sense of humor, generosity, and work ethics.  He attended Trinidad High School and Quanah Texas High School and was active in Baseball & Football and enjoyed working at Skateland as a skate guard for many years. He loved working in Tire Shops in Hobbs New Mexico and Trinidad Colorado. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and his nieces and nephews. and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Nebraska Corn Huskers.  He cherished his relationships with every family member and or friend and he showed it.  He was always available to help anyone and would do anything for them.  He had an extremely deep devotion to the scapular of our Lady and always wore one.

 

A Memorial celebration of Eddy’s life will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10:00am at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel.  Internment will be held by the family. Family and friends are invited to attend mass at 4pm on Saturday July 17th at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Persons wishing to do so may make contributions to the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Building Fund or to Skateland in his memory.  Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
