North Raton Home Total Loss from Fire

Raton Fire and Emergency Services, Colfax County Rapid Response and Raton PD responded to a house fire on North Fourth Street not far from Columbian School Sunday afternoon July 4th, 2021 just at 3:51 p.m.

Upon arrival fire fighters found the house at 805 N 4th Street fully engulfed and requested RPS and Raton Natural Gas to shut off service to the residence. It didn’t take too long before fire fighters had the blaze under control and but not before the house was pretty much destroyed.

The residence was occupied by one individual at the time of the fire and made it out safely. The Red Cross is helping the resident with alternative housing and other necessities. The cause of the blaze is believed to be accidental but is still under investigation at press time.
