Leola Lynn Beard passed away on June 18th 2021.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 25th 2021 at the Mills Cemetery in Mills, New Mexico with Randy Beavers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Leola was born on May 7th 1956 in Kimball, Nebraska to Donald and Elnora Beavers. Leola was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Elnora Beavers and her grandparents Bernhardt and Amelia Scheel. In-Laws Fred and Grace Beard and a close Uncle Gene Case.
She is survived by her husband John Beard and five children Connie and her husband Larry Mautz, Melvin and his wife Shanda Beard, Clint and his wife Stephanie Freeburg, Michael Beard and Jerilyn Reis. Leola had seven grandchildren Jordan and Blake Mautz, Dani, Taylor and Baylee Beard, Carson Reis and Sawyer Freeburg. She is also survived by two brothers Russell and his wife Sheila Beavers and Dean and his wife Pam Beavers. Leola has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, brother and sister in-laws and close friends.
Everyone that knew Leola loved her sweet spirit, joyful smile and open heart. In her life she held many titles of which were sister, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Leola wore many hats. She was a rancher, US Postal delivery driver, medical transcriptionist at three different hospitals and was employed at a Wyoming pig plant where she met her husband John. Of all these positions her most enjoyable was being a housewife and mother to her five children. On July 2nd 1993 Leola married John Beard and blended two families into one. Leola and John had 28 years together raising a family and enjoying life. Leola is known for her cooking and enjoyed feeding her friends and family. Leola loved canning fresh fruit, tomatoes and making fresh salsa. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her chickens and playing with her dog Ike. She loved the outdoors and traveling to see her 7 grandchildren. Leola will be greatly missed here on earth.
