Adelita M. Craig age 81 of Raton, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at her home in Raton. She was born August 15, 1938, in Dixon, NM the daughter of Ignacio and Adela Branch-Maestas. Adelita was a retired nurse of many years in the hospitals in Las Cruces and Las Vegas retiring from the boy’s school in Springer. She married Carlos Craig in August 1962 and was married for 58 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, she volunteered her time at the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store, the MCMC Auxiliary, and very active with the Relay for Life fundraising. She was very strong in her Catholic Faith and loved her family.
Adelita was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lulu Valdez, and brother-in-law Fidel Valdez. She is survived by her husband Carlos Craig of the home, three sons, Daniel Craig of Santa Fe, NM, Robert Craig and wife Sidney of West Point, New York, and Darren Craig and wife Deia of Raton. One sister Fabiola Esposito and husband Mike of Brighton, CO. grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Cody, Cresencia, McKenna, Steven, Rashaan, Derian, Makayla, and one great-grandchild Jaylynn. Four nieces, EA, Mina, Sally, Bianca one nephew Antonio and many beloved friends.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Friday June 25, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton recited by Frank Maldonado Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 with Father Daniel Balizan as the celebrant. inurnment will follow at a latter date.
