In Loving Memory of Lillie Frances Barreras

Lillie Frances Barreras, age 86, died on Monday, June 14, 2021 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Jason Pettigrew as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Clayton, New Mexico.

Lillie Frances Barreras was born on October 30, 1934 in Clayton, New Mexico. The daughter of Jose and Carlota Gonzales and her step-father Mathias Padilla. Lillie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for her entire life, from her first Holy Communion until her death. She worked most of her life as a cook in just about every restaurant in Clayton, sometimes working two or three jobs at a time to provide for her children. She taught her children a good work ethic, to be truthful and honest and to always tell the truth. She lived for her children and they were the driving force in her life. Lillie ws preceded in death by her husband Melvin J. Barreras, her parents and step-father. Her brothers, Joe and Sammy Gonzales, sister, Della Elkins and her husband Elmer, Deores Yoder and her husband Jim and Anita Archuleta and her husband Manuel, her brother-in-law, Joe Escobedo, and her Angel Granddaughter Erica Danielle Barreras and our little Angel Everleigh Danielle Barreras Great-Granddaughter and her precious daughter our sister Darlene Ortiz-Martinez.

She is survived by her children; Melvin Barreras, Michael Barreras, David Barreras and his wife Scarlot and Carlota Ulibarri and her husband Mathew.

4 GRANDCHILDREN: Vera Dawn Ortiz, Brandi Ortiz, Mark Barreras (Kayla) and Domionna Ulibarri.

5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Sierra, Aubrey and Jasmine Sandoval, Joshua Christian Chavez and Alexis Rose.

3 GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Mason Rose, Nayeli Chavez a one baby on the way David Mark Barreras III.

Her brother LeoRay Gonzales and his sweet wife Lupe, and by her sister Gina Escobedo and sister-in-law, Helen Gonzales.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to either the Baylor Scott and White Central Texas Foundation or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
