Gilbert (Gil) Guara, age 83, went home to be with the lord on May 27, 2021. He was surrounded and blanketed with love by those he cherished most in life. He was born on May 7, 1938 in Ocate, New Mexico on the Guara family ranch. He was an avid fisherman, talented carpenter and enjoyed spending time with family. He enjoyed dancing and playing darts in his spare time. He loved people and befriended everyone he came into contact with. He was charming, witty and would entertain you with a joke whenever you saw him. He loved his numerous children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his greatest joy in life was teaching them to fish. He was a natural teacher and would not hesitate to teach anyone a fishing or carpentry skill. Gil was a loyal partner, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He brought great joy and happiness to the love of his life and best friend Patricia Vigil.
He was proceeded in death by parents, David and Esther Gaura, brother, Samuel Guara, and sister Beatrice Griego
He is survived by his love (carazon) and best friend Patricia Vigil, children Esther (Ray) Martinez, Vincent (Sandy) Guara, David Guara, Jason (Jennifer) Guara, Debbie (Sebu) Grigorian, Gloria Vigil Johnny, John Vigil, Lawrence Vigil, Jay Vigil, Krystel (Josh) Tarro and CJ Vigil. He is also survived by beloved brother Arthur Guara and sister Mary Pacheco. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3pm-7pm and Friday from 9am-noon at thee Comi Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Friday, June 4, 2021 at 1pm at the Comi Chapel.
Cremation to follow with private inurnment at a later date.
