In Loving Memory of Richard “Dickie” Sanchez

Richard “Dickie” Sanchez closed his eyes to this world and opened them in Heaven on Thursday, May 27, 2021.  He was born September 12, 1939, to Rudolfo Sanchez and Emma Duran Sanchez in Raton, New Mexico.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Cecilia Sanchez, brother Rudy Sanchez, and infant daughter Sarah Louise Sanchez.

Dickie was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend to all he met.  He had the most giving heart and would do anything for his family and friends.  He was a journeyman welder and could fabricate anything or cut it freehand with a torch.  He worked at Pacific Car and the shipyards in Seattle, Washington, coal mine in Raton and worked building the silos and dragline here in Raton and Rock Springs, Wyoming.  He spent some of his childhood in Butte, Montana, while his father worked in the copper mines.  He was a true man of faith and passed that on to his family to not only speak it but live it in their everyday lives.  He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters; Debbie (Leroy) Sandoval, Diana Sanchez (Mike Bhatty), grandsons; Jacob Sanchez-Balizan, Leroy (Roni) Sandoval, Nathaniel (Danielle) Sandoval, Sandy Sandoval, and great grandchildren; Alayah, Leroy, Kaylee, Madeline, Nehemiah, Mykaela, Gabriel, Torrance, Nathan, Liam,  Demetrious and Xavier, sister-in-laws; Lorenza Sanchez, Pauline (Manuel) Trujillo, Elsie Muniz, Flora Decker, and Rosella Muniz, brother-in-laws; Johnny (Rose) Muniz, Pat Muniz, Andy Muniz, Tony Muniz and Mitchell Muniz, an aunt Beatrice Sanchez Baca and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
