NMAA STATE SPIRIT CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
ALBUQUERQUE, NM– The New Mexico Activities Association would like to highlight the following important information regarding the upcoming NMAA State Spirit Championships, presented by Dave & Buster’s.

Championship Location:
University of New Mexico – The Pit
Championship Dates:
Cheer – Friday, May 14th
Dance – Saturday, May 15th
Championship Schedules:
Spectators/Attendance Limitations:
Because Bernalillo County is “TURQUOISE” as defined by the New Mexico Department of Health, spectators will be allowed at The Pit but attendance will be limited based on current Public Health Orders pertaining to facility occupancy. Face coverings are required and social distancing must be maintained at all times.
Tickets:
Because limited attendance will be allowed at The Pit, tickets are available by session and can be purchased online only (NO WALK-UP SALES). The facility will be cleared at the conclusion of each session. Friday’s Cheer Championships will have two sessions, with only one on Saturday for the Dance Championships. Please remember to check the event schedule to determine which session(s) you would like to attend and purchase tickets accordingly.

Adult – $10
Students (K-12) / Seniors (65+) / Military – $5
*Ticket prices do not include online service fees added by UNM
Additional Facility Information:
The University of New Mexico will be charging $5 per vehicle for parking.
Concession Stands will be closed but vending machines will be available for water.

Additional Information Specific to Members of the Media for The Pit:

Due to Bernalillo County’s status as designated by the New Mexico Department of Health, WORKING media with a valid 2020-2021 NMAA Media Credential may request to cover the event. Because of occupancy restrictions, however, only those outlets covering a specific school will be granted access. All media outlets must request approval to attend through the NMAA.

Media members should park in the Pit East Lot behind the UNM Baseball Field and enter the facility through the Southeast / McDavid Lounge Entrance. Access via the ramp/media room area WILL NOT be available. A valid NMAA media credential must be presented to obtain complimentary parking and admission to the facility.

Face coverings are required and social distancing must be maintained at all times while covering the event and/or conducting interviews.

Working Media Seating

Limited space will be provided near court level on both the east and west sides of the arena; these areas will be labeled for working media only

There will not be a “hospitality room”.
