After two nights of basketball action the Lady Tigers and the Tigers place marks in both the win and loss columns of the record books.

On Tuesday Clayton came to Raton prepared for a rematch from last weeks play in Clayton where the varsity boys lost by two and the girls came away with big losses. The JV girls played at Tiger Gym while the JV Boys played a Raton Middle School Tuesday afternoon. The girls took a big loss as they could only muster 15 points for the game while Clayton tallied three quarters of double digit points for a 41-15 win.

The JV boys won their game with a 56-49 win. That game was fairly close until the end when Clayton suffered from the turnover plague.

The varsity girls took the court in Tiger Gym Tuesday and were quickly outscored as Mandy Crisp dropped in 14 points and stole the ball several times for the Jackettes. Clayton dropped 22 points in the bucket in the first quarter leaving Raton in the dust with single digit scores in the first half of the game.

Mandy Crisp was the go getter Tuesday night and was all over the court for Clayton making steal and socking in the points where she totaled 29 points for help the Jackettes take the win.

The varsity boys took to the court where Raton fell behind 12-19 in the first quarter making it look like Clayton would mark the win column again. However Raton rallied in the and held Clayton to only six points. Christian Kamp added two 3-pointers while the Quartieri twins dropped in four 3-pointers and Matthew Quartieri added another eight to give Raton a 34 point quarter taking a 46-25 lead into the locker room.

Clayton began to little away at the big lead in the second half but it was too little to late as the Tiger Defense battled a fourth quarter close call to win the game 71-56.

The boys travelled down to Las Vegas to take on the Dons Wednesday evening and suffered from the turnover plague in the first half of the game to give the Dons a big lead and finally the win at 70-46.
