Raton Cross Country Runners Qualify for State Meet

The Raton Cross Country team competed on Friday, March 19 at Santa Fe St. Mikes in the District 2AAA Cross Country meet, and qualified four individuals for the state run which will be held in Albuquerque at Academy High School next week.

Aurora Holling running for the Lady Tigers, finished 4th in the district meet with a time of :29.45 which earned her a trip to the state meet.

Chase Kamp won the district 2AAA individual title with a time of 18:16. Brother Chance Kamp qualified with a time of 20:40 and Conner Adams ran the course in 23:17 which placed him high enough in the district meet to move on to the state meet next week. Kaleb Salazar individually shaved four minutes off his time but missed the cut for the finals.
