Jeannette Elaine Nason Johannessen
A former lifelong resident of La Veta, Colorado passed peacefully March 16, 2021, in her home.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 am March 27, 2021, at Mountain View Baptist Church in La Veta, Colorado.
Jeannette “Jet” was born September 17, 1954 in Walsenberg, CO to Dan and Mary Nason. She graduated from La Veta High School in 1972. During those high school years, she was an active member of Rainbow and Student Council. Jeannette reigned as President of Pep Club her senior year.
Jet was a loving devoted wife to Leif Eddy Johannessen Sr. During their life together they raised a blended family including Jet’s three daughters Tanya, Shannon, and Michelle, and Ed’s children Christy and Eddy Jr. While Jeannette was a life long resident La Veta, CO she and Ed traveled through Wyoming, Utah and Colorado where they would temporarily build a homestead during his work stretches in the oil field
Jeannette was an active member of the La Veta Chamber with Cheryl Rosenberg. She and Cheryl were also long-time business owners of Gathering Place. While she was a dedicated member of her community her heart was centered around her family. Jet most enjoyed being Boo Boo to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeannette is survived by her mother, Mary Louise Nason, Brother, Ralph, and Kay Nason, Sister, Donna Adams, Sister in Law, Cheryl Rosenberg, Daughters Tanya, and Michelle, Step Children, Christy Johannessen-Willis and Eddy Johannessen Jr. 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Nason, husband, Ed Johannessen, Daughter, Shannon Bruce, Brother, Danny Nason Brother in-laws, Carl Roberts, Mark Adams, Son in law, Joe Bruce, Mother and Father in law Leif and Salvia Johannessen
