In Loving Memory of Martin Mitchell Romero

Martin Mitchell Romero, of Trinidad Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2021.  He was 57 years young.

Martin was born in Trinidad, Colorado to Joe Romero and Dolores (Romero) Crespin on July 3, 1957.

He was the second of four siblings, Rick Crespin, Rene Romero, and Marlene Montoya.

Martin grew up here in Trinidad, He enjoyed what he truly knew to be the best qualities of life.

At a very young age, he was shown the ways of nature and the wild which included

hunting and fishing and being able to survive and provide with his own two hands.  These are some of the many qualities Martin was blessed with.

He attended Trinidad High School, where Martin excelled at playing football.  He graduated from Trinidad High School in 1983 and continued his education at diesel mechanic school.

Later in his adult life, he held other occupations. Martin enjoyed sharing stories and liked to often reminisce of his construction days, working with Mike Freeman and Gerald Martin.

He truly enjoyed working as a mechanic as he was great at what he did. He loved his tools of the trade and was proud of his strength and work ethic.  Martin was always busy.

Martin loved to collect antiques.  He had an eye for many things, with arrowheads being one of his favorites. At one time, he had an extensive collection that he was very proud of.

Martin was a generous man and shared his gifts with anyone who was willing to learn.

Being an avid hunter and fisherman, Martin wanted to hand down his knowledge and with great pride, his son Chris will be the first to share them with many future generations.

These are some of the things that will be forever cherished and remembered by Martin Romero.

We are finding comfort in knowing that Martin was welcomed Home, by his mother Dolores, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by father Joe Romero, son Christopher Romero (Davena Cisneros), stepdaughter Ashlee(Brandon) Thurston, brother Rick(Sharon) Crespin, sisters Renee Romero (Jason Griego) Marlene(Anastacio) Montoya, great-grandson Brayden Romero, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, special Nino, Uncle Bob, special Nina, Elaine Crespin, best friends that always held a special bond, Mike Martin, Eugene Vecellio, Max Wolman and last but not least, Phil Martinez.
