Dear Families of Des Moines Students,
We have received notice that Des Moines Schools may enter full re-entry. Starting Monday, February 22 all students are welcome back all the time. We will return to the 8:00-3:15 school day. Masks and social distancing will continue to be required. Fridays will remain remote learning at this time.
We strongly encourage all students to return to in person learning. As you well know, we have been in remote or hybrid learning for nearly a year. This has been very taxing on teachers and families. We welcome some normalcy in our education system. Furthermore, classroom air purification systems will be in this week to continue to improve air quality and reduce risk of transmission. If your family has been in remote learning and you wish to remain in remote learning for the year, please call 278-2611 for an appointment with an administrator.
Physical education classes will resume on Monday, February 22. Please send inside gym shoes if you haven’t already. We will continue social distancing and mask wearing as required in all settings including PE.
Fridays will remain remote learning and they will remain from 8-1:30 on the remote schedule. Schedules will be posted in Google Classroom and See-saw. We will discontinue office hours because students will be in person. Scheduled intervention time will resume for 7-12 grade students.
The NMAA has given volleyball and cross country a green light to begin practice and schedule games/meets. Our first volleyball game is March 1st at home against Cimarron beginning at 4 pm. We are uncertain if any fans are allowed at this time. All games will be filmed and available on Youtube. We will send the link at a later date.
