Gloria Gagliardi , 73, of Trinidad Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 11 2021 after a battle with cancer.
Gloria was born on April 29 1947 to Mariano Gonzales and wife Ascension (Lucero). After graduating from Trinidad Catholic in 1965, She went on to study at Trinidad State Junior College where she worked while studying liberal arts.
After college, she met Charles S Gagliardi, her soulmate, and they married shortly after. Their two children, Michael and Vincent were the passion of their lives. And there was nothing that they wouldn’t do for them.
With Charles as her companion, Gloria decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Gloria excelled at supporting her family and friends through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She was a devoted Catholic and a true prayer warrior who kept her family in her thoughts and prayers in spite of difficulties.
She was a very forgiving and loving and empathetic person.
Gloria was a passionate decorative artist and fashion designer with a classy southwestern taste who enjoyed collecting depression glass and rescuing antique furniture. She loved home decorating and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she enjoyed attending mass at Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed visiting her Aunt Mattie on Sundays and has had supportive lifelong friends Rosemary East and Margaret Palmquist. She enjoyed making gift baskets for her friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog Boots.
Gloria was so strong and brave she was unknowingly battling cancer at home for the last 5 years. She was a very courageous woman loving mother and caring and supportive grandmother and great grandmother (Easton) to her grandkids, who she referred to as “her boys” Brett Stelitano, Kodi Gagliardi, Trey Gagliardi (Deidre), and Kaylin.
We will miss her greatly.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband Charles Gagliardi, her parents, her brothers Burt, Lee, Ernest, Ben, and elder sister Mary Elena and a younger brother named Joseph Robert.
Her friend and neighbor Carol Amato also proceeded her in death.
She is survived by her sons Michael, (Tammy) Vincent (Maritza) and brother Ruben (Mona Gay), and nephew Anthony Zehna who she cared for after her husband passed. Her niece Judy, and sister-in-law Frances Meade. And cousin(s) Flora Pachelli. And Ron Lucero.
