Carmen B. Wristen, 94, formerly of Trinidad, CO. passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. Carmen was born in Tabasco, CO on March 26, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Eloise (Orge) and Jose Barron. She was raised in Valdez, CO, and later moved to Starkville, CO, then to Trinidad, CO. At the time of her death, Carmen was living in Fort Collins, CO. She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1944. She worked as a clerk at Jamieson’s Department Store, Gordon’s Music Shop, and Elite Jewelers. Following retirement, Carmen became an active volunteer at Mt. San Rafael Hospital, the Trinidad Senior Center, and the Trinidad Visitor’s Center. Survivors include her son, Richard Barron (Nancy) of Loveland, CO., daughter-in-law, Emily (Daniel) Barron, and sisters Carolyn (Roger) Hernandez of LaJunta, CO, Patricia (John) Lovato of Pueblo, CO., and Roberta (Louis) Camacho of Denver, CO. four grandchildren, Danielle Haro, Valerie Barron, R.J. (Jen) Barron and Josh (Matthew Pace) Barron, five great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Robert and Rudy), a son (Daniel), and a grandson (David). Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
