In Loving Memory of Alexandria Sandra Georgieff

Sandra’s Story

Sandra’s journey began on April 29, 1951, in Raton, NM, and came to an end peacefully on February 11, 2021, in Raton, NM surrounded by her loving family. Sandra, whom many fondly known as “Lala” or “Alex”, attended Raton High School, graduating Class of 1969. The next six years of her life were spent in San Antonio, Texas, where she met many amazing life-long friends. After spending time in Raton, NM and Pueblo, CO.  Sandra eventually moved to Albuquerque, NM, and called it her home.

Sandra lived for her children and grandchildren. She loved motorcycles (“biker-mama”), reading, and the ocean, but being with her family was her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Alex and Effie Georgieff, brother Robert (Bobby) Georgieff, nieces Dawn and Roberta, nephew Michael, and special life-long best friend, Janie V. Garcia.

Sandra is survived by daughter Alexia McElhinney and son-in-law John McElhinney, daughter Vanessa Chiaramonte-Curt, grandchildren Caitlin Romero, Gian Curt, Brooklyn Curt, Isla Allen, and great-granddaughter, Kai Albreski.

She is also survived by her sister, Mickie Georgieff, brothers Louis Georgieff, Alex (Lenor) Georgieff Jr., and Marion (Gail) Georgieff. Sandra is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many beloved friends.

Per Sandra’s request, no services are to be held and cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or just please be kind to someone. Call a friend or relative you have not reached out to recently. Forgive someone. All acts of kindness are appreciated.

Arrangements for Alexandria (Sandra) Georgieff are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.

    I’m very saddened that my loving and dear sister, Lala, is no longer with us. However, she no longer is suffering from pain. I will miss her and love her forever.
