Steve Martinez, 62, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, in Santa Fe after a lengthy illness. A lifelong Raton resident, Steve was born in Raton on March 10, 1958, to Julian and Madeline Martinez.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Julian Martinez, his brother-in-law Antonio Alvarado, his paternal grandmother Clorinda Alarid and his maternal grandmother Benina Sanchez.
Steve is survived by his mother Madeline Martinez, sisters Linda Alvarado, Julie Munniks and husband Ron, Janet Martinez and husband Eric Giron, brothers Phil Martinez and wife Sylvia, Gerald Martinez and wife Jeannie, Michael Martinez and wife Jennifer and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Rosary will be held Monday, Feb. 15 at 6 pm in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home and will be limited per COVID restrictions.
Solemn Mass of The Resurrection will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. COVID restrictions will also apply.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
