Kent Ray Helin age 75 of Raton, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, in Raton. He was born March 2, 1945, in Dodge City, Kansas the son of Karl and Charlotte Northern-Helin. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1963 and attended college at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, KS, the University of Hays in Hays, KS, and Saint Marys College in Dodge City, KS. He married Linda Smith on March 31, 1968.
He had worked and the May drug store, Speed King, Power Plant of Dodge City and owned Lucas Auto Glass from 1995 until 2004 then retired and moved to New Mexico. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
He is preceded in death by his son Derek J. Helin, brother Gary J. Helin, Niece Tara R. Helin, and his parents. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home, son Darin Helin and wife Tonya of Dodge City, KS. Grandchildren Hunter, Fisher, and Daisy of Dodge City, KS. Great-granddaughter Bristyl Ray Helin.
By family request cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
