Viola J. Cruz 85 of Raton, NM went to be with the Lord on Thursday
January 21, 2021. She was born March 25, 1935, in Raton, NM. She is the daughter of Mary Bueno-Aragon. Viola was preceded in death by her mother Mary Bueno-Aragon, husband John A. Cruz, brother Sippie Aragon, Sister Frances Aragon, and two daughters Renee Cruz Vigil, Evangeline Gonzales, and living husband Pat A. Gonzales.
Viola loved spending time with her family and loved listening to Spanish music on Sundays. She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, playing solitaire, and making puzzles.
She is survived by granddaughter Desiree Romero, husband Marcus
Romero and great-grandchildren Jonavon, Dominic, and Tanessa.
Daughter Gloria Gonzales and companion Art Cruz. Grandson CJ
Gonzales, wife Amanda Barry (Gonzales), and great-grandchildren Seth, Noah, Austin, Alex, Raejean, Zoey and Christopher Jr. Granddaughter Marie Gonzales and husband Robert Gonzales, great-grandchildren, Mariah, Robert, and Leann. Close niece Debbie and husband Claude Vigil and great-nephews JJ Vigil and family, Jacob Vigil and family, and great-niece Alexis Meiller and family. Family member Pat L. Gonzales as well as close friends Ramona Trujillo and Francis Aguilar.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Friday, February 5, 2021, at 10:00 A.M.at the St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Larry Guara. Solom Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 with Father William Woytavich as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.
