In Loving Memory of Anthony J. Ortiz (OD)

Anthony J. Ortiz (OD) 66, passed away on January 29, 2021. He was born to parents John C. and Erlinda Ortiz on July 3, 1954, in Raton, NM. OD graduated from Raton High School in 1972.
He was married to the love of his life, Cecil Ortiz in 1980. He is survived by his children; son Richard Martinez and wife Rosemarie of Albuquerque, NM, Daughter Becky Jones of Albuquerque, NM, Son Chris Ortiz and Vanessa LeDoux of Pueblo, CO, Daughter Sara Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM. Grandkids Tanner Jones, Crystal Ortiz, Xandra Martinez, Ariana Ortiz, and Destiny Ortiz. Brother Larry Lucero, Sister Eva Ortiz, Brother Davy and wife Carmen Ortiz, Brother Rick and wife Cora Ortiz, Brother Andy and wife Rene Ortiz, Brother Gerald Ortiz of St. Louis, MO, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
OD is proceeded by his daughter Erlinda Ortiz, parents John C. and Erlinda Ortiz, Grandparents Aurora and Andres Gonzales, Grandparents Mel and Maclova Ortiz, brother Albert Ortiz, sister Lori Ann Ortiz, and loving grandson Austin Jones.
OD was known for his love of softball and supporting his kids and grandkids at their sporting events. He was an avid Cowboys, Lakers, and Yankees fan. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, watching horse racing, playing slots games on his phone, and most of all his extreme love for his tattoos.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, for family members, by invitation only due to Covid restrictions. There will be a public viewing that anyone can attend from 1:00-3:00 on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Yaksich Long Funeral Home located at 1310 S 2nd St. Raton, NM 87740.
