In Loving Memory of David Dale McDonald

David Dale McDonald, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. He was born on July 18th, 1963 to Dale McDonald and Frances Giraud in Lancaster, California. He started school in Ridgecrest California and graduated from Raton High School in 1981. He attended WyoTech specializing in diesel mechanics. David became a firefighter in 1997 when he joined the Folsom Volunteer Fire Department and then was later hired by Raton Fire and EMS where he served his community with honor. He was an avid dirt bike enthusiast and adventurist, spending countless hours on trails and tracks. His passion for the sport led him to the opening of EagleRock Moto/Enduro Trials (not trails)! He also enjoyed playing the guitar and his kids singing along to the music.
David is preceded in death by his father Finis Dale McDonald, son Riley Newkirk, maternal grandparents Mabel Thompson and Paul Giraud, paternal grandparents Gertrude and Finis McDonald. David is survived by his mom, Frances Pennington of Bakersfield California, longtime girlfriend Alisa Ebell of Folsom NM, Daughter Jonlyn and her husband Brian Nazeri of Raton NM, son Mark McDonald of Raton NM, son Tommy and wife Hattie Newkirk of Tijeras NM, daughter Natashia McDonald of Folsom NM, and son Hayden Patno of Folsom NM, brother William and Natali McDonald of Bakersfield CA, and sister Punkie Birch of Grants Pass OR., granddaughters Carly and Rilee Newkirk of Albuquerque NM, grandson Connor McDonald of Raton, NM, granddaughters Katie, Jessica, Emily and Annie Arellanes of Carrizozo NM.
