Dolores I. Fernandez age 75 of Raton, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on August 12, 1945, in Springer, NM. The daughter of Jose N. and Elvira Fernandez-Martinez. She had worked as a P.C.A and was involved in the Hungry Hearts Soup Kitchen for many years.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, son, Greg in 2013, and three sisters Alice, Flora, and Julia. She is survived by her husband Donny Fernandez of the home, three daughters, Brenda J. Guara of Raton, Carol Garcia and husband Melvin of Rio Rancho, NM, and Debbie Armijo of Springer, NM. One son/grandson Jonathan Castillo of Raton, NM, three sisters, Viola Avila and husband Manuel of Albuquerque, NM, Nancy Valdez of Raton, NM, and Nora Cruz of Springer, NM. Two brothers Gilbert Martinez and his wife Julia of Raton, NM, and John Martinez and his wife Ernie of Springer, NM. Eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Dolores loved her family dearly. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and shopping. She was most when she was surrounded by her family. Her faith in God and her strength was so admirable. She definitely passed it down to her family. Dolores will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her joyful spirit, and her amazing love for her family and the Lord.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton with Pastor Monty McGowan officiating burial will be in the Springer Cemetery in Springer, NM.
Limit attendance will be in effect at the Chapel and social distancing and mask will be required.

To the Family of Eloy Martinez, my condolences to you for the loss of your father. Your parents were very sweet, dear people. I enjoyed knowing them. Your dad always came into the bank and visited and joked with us all. May God heal your hearts.
