Dolores and Alfred Torres were our neighbors on Apache Avenue in Raton while we were fixing up the big house on the corner. They were wonderful neighbors, quiet and kind and helpful. They watched and supported us as we worked to renovate the house, and once when my husband was digging a ditch in the alley to repair plumbing, Mrs. Torres brought him a cold drink and told him fondly, that he was a “workin’ fool”. They participated in our neighborhood watch program and cared very deeply about the neighborhood. Please tell your family that their influence improved our community and certainly improved the lives of the people they touched. Maggie and Leo Linsky
