Changes to Lake Access at Eagle Nest Lake State Park

ATV traffic and Six Mile Day Use Area closed due to unsafe ice conditions
New Mexico State Parks, a Division of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department,
announces Eagle Nest Lake is closed to ATV traffic, effective immediately. In addition, the Six
Mile Day Use Area is closed. Ice fishing is limited to the main area of the lake due to dangerous
ice conditions. Large pressure ridges have formed in the ice creating open water, weak spots, and
hazardous conditions. Pressure ridges that have been identified are being marked with cones,
but anglers are warned to be aware that not all hazards may be marked.
WHAT: Eagle Nest Lake State Park is closed to ATV traffic and the Six Mile Day Use Area is
closed.

As a reminder, State Parks are currently open for day-use to New Mexico residents only.
