Marian Trujillo Vigil, affectionately known as MTV peacefully passed away, December 12th, 2020 at 79 years of age. She came into the world against all odds-on May 15, 1941, in Springer, New Mexico, the daughter of Severiano “Nano” and Elydia Trujillo.
Marian graduated from Springer High School. She loved socializing with people and enjoyed her first employment at the Zia Grill and Springer Drug store. She was full of life and the first to shout out a “Hi Sweety” if she met you on the street. Marian was a very active member of the community and had a strong sense of Civic duty. Throughout her lifetime her career included: Appointment to Corrections Commission under Governor Jerry Apodaca and Re-appointed by Governor Bruce King, Member, and Chairwoman of the Colfax County Commissioners, Board Chair for Colfax County General Hospital, Vice -Chairwoman of the Colfax County Democratic Party, Office Specialist and Recruiting Officer for Luna Community College. She was active within the church and a member of the choir at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish. She was what some would call a “Super Politician”. There are those that get into politics to help themselves and those that do it help others. Marian was drawn to politics solely to help others.
